What people think about our program

I think the Junior Innovate Program is actually a very good program whereby the students are exposed to a few aspects. They learn about technology and trained to be independent by learning to handle their projects on their own. My son became more confident through developing the projects and he's able to present the project to the public.

After my son was introduced to Arduino through Chumbaka's program, he started to create things. And that puts together his initial interest in creating and putting new ideas into practice.

My child is very interested in this class. She wants to write more programs and get a sense of accomplishment with the results. This class develops the child's concentration and thinking creativity.

Before Chumbaka’s program, my students never had the opportunity to learn coding or Arduino. When they were given the opportunity, they started to learn on their own and even went on YouTube to do their research. And they own this project and were the ones who wanted to participate in this competition. They’ve grown a lot from participating in this program.

Students start to want to solve problems around them with technology. Coding is no longer a topic they are afraid of and learning to share with their peers and others have dramatically developed.

Students gained a lot of skills in digital innovation and communication to prepare them for the jobs of the future. They are more confident and mature in decision making which make them very good in problem solving. They love to join innovation competition and always being positive with whatever the results were. For them, the knowledge and opportunities are more precious than winning.

I saw my students develop skills along this journey; the skills that they may not be able to gain in school. The national championship camp is not an easy task for us. The level of stress, pressure is higher and for my students, the learning curve are somehow steeper than the rest. I said it is okay because we always can learn. Learning and experiencing the whole process is what really matters I said to them. I believed my students are somehow gained a new hope and lots of experience that they will definitely use in their future.

We learn a lot about Arduino and coding. Besides that, we also learn that we have to divide our time properly so that we're able to finish the project in the limited time that we have. We also learn how to be brave enough to chase our dream like when inventing our game (project).

I really like helping people. And this competition (YIC) gave me a platform to do that. This time my project is to help the blind, but I’m hoping to be able to build other projects to help other disabled people.

"I have actively been in the program since 2016. In the beginning, it was more of an exposure to the world of Information Technology. I started understanding and developing basic skills such as block-programming, electronic circuit, 3D Designing and much more. As years passed, exposure transitioned into skills; then to hobby; to passion; and lastly, to potential careers. The Chumbaka program has not only taught me technical abilities; but it also instilled the sense of responsibility and organisation in me, skills like communication and presentation as well. These are essential to my future; to our future, in my opinion."

I was really impressed for myself when I finished my Mario game. What I learned is the skill of programings and making the LED or the machine works.
